SOCIAL MEDIA Q&A.

Social media … where do we even start?!?  Here are some answers to some of your social media questions.  If you are looking for an answer to a specific question or issue, let me know!  I’ll answer you directly and post here for others to benefit!

Q: How should I start a social media campaign for my business?
A: First, let me say this — you don’t have to be on all the platforms.  Yep!  I said it and I meant it.  You truly don’t. The most important thing is to make a commitment to consistency and if you can only do that on one platform, focus on that. You can always add additional platforms later.  Now that we’ve cleared that up (phew), here are the steps I suggest for you:

    1. If you haven’t already, take some time to figure out who your ideal customer is and conduct a little research on what platform(s) they are spending their time
    2. Decide on the social platform(s) you will be focusing on
    3. Set up your profiles (see next question down — make it memorable!)
    4. Create a plan — how often will you be posting, what will you be posting, who will be doing the posting, who will be responsible for engaging (answering questions, responding to comments, liking and commenting on other users posts)
    5. Create engaging content that is consistent with your brand
    6. Stick to the plan
    7. And, most importantly, BE AUTHENTIC

Q: What do I put in my social profile summary?
A: Your social profile summary is an introduction to those viewing your profile, it’s a handshake. Whether it’s your personal or business profile — don’t be afraid to sprinkle your personality into it. This is, most often, your first impression — make it memorable!

Q: How do I show off positive customer feedback on Facebook
curated from Constant Contact
A: Did you know that 35 percent of comments on Facebook Pages are compliments? Unfortunately, when a fan comments on your page, it often becomes hidden under Recent Posts by Others. Luckily, there is a trick for featuring positive fan comments on your main timeline. Follow these simple steps:

    1. Access your Activity Log by visiting Facebook.com/YourUserName/allactivity and click on Posts by Others on the left-hand side of the Activity Log.
    2. Click the pencil icon that appears on the right side of the post you’d like to show off and a menu will drop down. Check off the Allowed on Page option.
